Subscription


A Subscription for an SSI Product License helps you maintain and maximize the power of your software investment, providing access to the latest software releases, technical support, and advance previews of new features.

Stay up to date cost-effectively


A Subscription is a method for maintaining the most up to date version of the software so you can take advantage of continual improvements to optimize productivity and competitiveness. If you have purchased a Subscription for a product license, you will be provided upgrades to that license without repurchase during the life of that Subscription’s term.

This is important because there are substantial costs associated with both the renewal of out-of-date products and lost productivity due to the unavailability of continual innovations and improvements to our products. Don’t give your competition this competitive edge.

Use Multiple ShipConstructor Versions


Clients often have to use multiple versions of ShipConstructor products to handle legacy projects or to work with subcontractors. If (and only if) a license has a current Subscription, you can use the current version as well as previous versions of the software.

Technical Support


If you have a product license with a valid Subscription, you can receive free technical support for that product (via SSI Nexus) from SSI dealers and representatives who are trained experts in the software. Downloadable hot fixes and patches are also included with a Subscription to continually improve performance and stability. And, to help you understand your product better, detailed technical manuals are available as well.

Subscription Advantage Pack


The Subscription Advantage Pack program is a further benefit of a Subscription. It is a program to improve productivity and competitiveness by gaining exclusive access to new features and functionalities before they are released to the general public. This enables subscribers to influence the development of ShipConstructor software and stay on the leading edge of the industry.

Production Assurance


A further Subscription related benefit is Production Assurance. Production Assurance is a plan to protect productivity and save money. It is a credit-based plan for accessing SSI training, consulting, and implementation services at a 20% discounted rate. (Note: currently, Production Assurance is only available to US clients.)

SSI has implemented this program based on client feedback. While there is always the intention to take advantage of training and consulting, it often falls outside the existing planning and budgeting process our clients have in place. We have associated this program to the subscription renewal process recognizing clients can more easily plan and budget for training and consulting as part of already existing internal processes. That means just one budget and one Purchase Order for an annual plan to address the entire scope of opportunities to optimize on the investment.

SSI can provide the 20% discount because an annual plan also reduces our costs around planning and budgeting to provide these important training and consulting services.

Pricing


A Subscription is purchased in one, two, or three year increments on perpetual licenses. Multi-year subscriptions offer discounted pricing and security against any price increases for a known period. Rent and Lease licenses include Subscription.

Multi-Year Subscription with discounts


Multi-Year Subscription has long been in demand and SSI is happy to now offer this option to clients.   Whether to facilitate longer term budgeting and planning, streamline purchasing, protect against price changes or just save money, clients now have the multi-year subscription option.

Renewals


On a Product with Active Subscription (expiring within 60 days)

Renewing Subscription on any product with active Subscription that will expire within 60 days is as simple as purchasing Subscription for one more year. All updates, hotfixes, improvements and general benefits with using the latest software and continuous product support continue seamlessly, without interruption and at the ongoing lowest cost (except for multi-year subscriptions).

On a Product without Active Subscription
Renewing Subscription on any product with active Subscription that will expire within 60 days is as simple as purchasing Subscription for one more year. All updates, hotfixes, improvements and general benefits with using the latest software and continuous product support continue seamlessly, without interruption and at the ongoing lowest cost (except for multi-year subscriptions).

On a Product without Active Subscription
If Subscription has lapsed for less than 365 days (or a product was purchased without Subscription and less than 365 days have passed) a Late Renewal Fee will be charged along with the Subscription purchase. The term for the Subscription renewal begins from the date that Subscription lapsed (or the date the product was purchased). Late Renewal Fees can be avoided by purchasing Subscription prior to the end of the current term or along with the purchase of the product.

If Subscription has lapsed for more than 364 days and the product to be renewed is one of the 5 previous versions released, an Upgrade from Previous must be purchased for the product prior to the Subscription purchase. In this case, the software can also be cross-graded or swapped for other products, if the needs of the organization have changed in the interim.

If Subscription has lapsed for more than 364 days and the product to be upgraded is older than one of the 5 previous versions released the software must be purchased again along with Subscription.
