A platform-of-platforms framework, combined with <\/span><\/span>a connected and programmable digital twin, allows for <\/span><\/span>vessel owners and operators<\/span><\/span> to manage <\/span><\/span>existing<\/span><\/span> and future ships with a<\/span><\/span> single,<\/span><\/span> unified, digital-first<\/span><\/span> approach.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Merging the different worlds of digital and non-digital<\/span> ships <\/span>within a single strategy<\/span> necessitates <\/span>accepting<\/span> and leverag<\/span>ing<\/span> new digital information from future vessels, <\/span>while <\/span>simultaneously<\/span> taking advantage of l<\/span>imited or non-existent data <\/span>from<\/span> existing ships.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>information that does exist is currently housed across many organizations <\/span>and platforms<\/span>, <\/span>but most importantly it is not linked together<\/span>.<\/span> As a result, significant manual effort is required to make it usable<\/span> \u2013 increasing the time it takes to make decisions and reducing the quality of the ones that do get made.<\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

When combined with a collaborative visual and connected digital twin, this platform-of-platforms structure allows for information on any vessel from any source to become dynamically linked together, feed any department, and be re-used throughout the lifecycle. Bridging the gap between digital and non-digital ships in this way minimizes manual effort, fosters better decision making, and reduces overall lifetime vessel costs.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
