Managing and synchronizing the ShipConstructor work performed by geographically distributed teams can impose a tremendous strain on both network communications and server resources. When teams are remotely connected to a ShipConstructor project, fixed network speed and latency issues can negatively impact work performance and can make the project more susceptible to blockage delays occurring at the server level, impacting everyone working on the project.
With the release of SSI ShipConstructor 2021 R 2.1, the WorkShare Teams Distributed Database platform joins the ShipConstructor WorkShare family of collaborative solutions and gives distributed teams the greater performance they need.
WorkShare Teams distributed database structure provides teams with the ability to work on the same ShipConstructor project while staying connected with up to eight geographic locations in real-time.
This strategy reduces the impact of speed and latency issues, allowing end-users to perform a wide range of selected tasks with substantially improved performance. Read-only operations such as generating reports, creating BOM’s, compiling production drawings, importing external references or x-refs, loading revisions, exports to third party systems, data-mining, and similar operations can be performed against the read-only, rather than the primary database, offloading memory, CPU, and input/output resources.
