SSI is excited to announce that Victaulic’s catalog is now available for use within SSI’s Autodesk based ShipConstructor Pipe modeling product.

On the Victaulic website, you can download native Victaulic content for M.E.P. CAD. This includes IPS range couplings and fittings, valves, strainers and flange adapters. Both metric and imperial versions are available.

Once this catalog is imported into ShipConstructor, engineering and production of piping systems can become more efficient and users can quickly and accurately calculate and report on weight and space savings using Victaulic couplings instead of traditional flanging.

This is advantageous for everyone. SSI Technical Solutions Specialist Darren Guillory explains, “It’s a win for Victaulic because it gives far more market exposure to their awesome products. It’s a win for the end user as it reduces costs in many ways, and for SSI, it makes our product offering better as well. It’s a win-win all around. From our side, we’re always trying to better our software. This is one way to do just that.”

Victaulic’s Virtual Design EMEIA & Content Manger Kenneth Verlinden also notes that if you are using the Victaulic catalog in ShipConstructor, you can get an exact report of what you need which is the best way to get an accurate pricing estimate. This is because you avoid the risk that you miss something or have too much material.

The Victaulic/ShipConstructor collaboration is such a benefit that Marine News has written an article about it entitled: “Designing a Marriage Made in Heaven”.
