» Software Developer

Due to growth, SSI is currently seeking two, permanent, full-time Software Developers to join our development team in Victoria, British Columbia.

This is an excellent opportunity to assist in the development of leading-edge 3D design software while exercising your passion for software development and natural inclination to solve tough problems.

The successful candidates will have a post-secondary education in Computer Science or Engineering and two years' relevant experience, including thorough knowledge of C++, C# and/or other object-oriented programming languages. Most importantly, you must be a strong communicator and team player.

In addition, you will also have:
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio
• Familiarity with object-oriented design patterns
• Knowledge of complex data structures and algorithms
• Experience with automated testing methodologies
• Experience with SQL Server (or other relational databases)
• Experience investigating and solving SQL performance issues
• Understanding of SQL best practices and methodologies
• Experience with WPF development and MVVM, MVC, or similar design patterns 

Previous experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum or Kanban) is advantageous, as is previous experience with JIRA, Confluence, AutoCAD and other CAD software.

» Accounting Assistant

General Duties:
• Reporting to the Accounting Manager
• Preparing daily and monthly bank reconciliations and manage deposits and payments
• Responsible for accounts payable processing and managing post purchase invoices
• Responsible for Accounts Receivable processing, managing post sales invoicing, payments and reconciliation
• Maintaining accurate record keeping for funding invoices and payments
• Maintain and reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts
• Prepare monthly draft consolidated statements
• Maintain and reconcile payroll benefits
• Process tax remittances – Provincial and Federal

Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting
• Demonstrated systems to achieve a high level of detail and efficiency
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of accounting principles
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting software applications
• Fully competent with the use of Excel in an accounting environment
• Experience with Sage an asset

» Administration Assistant

Do you take pride in your ability to provide exceptional administrative support? Are you detail oriented, self motivated, able to work well independently or as part of a team? This may be the right opportunity for you. We have a temporary position available for one year to cover a maternity leave.

General Duties:
• report to HR & Operations Coordinator
• responsible for answering all incoming calls, responding to general inquiries and directing inquiries to appropriate department/contact
• greet all visitors and extend SSI hospitality
• monitor and respond to general SSI Info and HR email boxes
• maintain general office photocopier / printer and liaise with Xerox on maintenance etc. 
• assist with HR requirements as directed by the COO and/or the Operations Coordinator
• shipping/mailing of outgoing mail; marketing materials, and correspondence
• assist with preparation and assembly of marketing/sales materials (handouts, training certificates etc.) as needed
• compile reports, letters and memos on as requested basis 
• responsible for updating SSI internal CRM Database on an as needed basis 
• regularly update attendance and trip calendar 
• responsible for ordering, administering and maintaining all office, kitchen and library supplies
• maintain routine and confidential records as required
• assist with organization, planning and execution of company events
• ensure all office and kitchen supplies are maintained

Requirements:
• minimum 2 years experience in a reception or customer service role, preferably in a business environment 
• exceptional time management and organizational skills 
• strong written and oral business communications skills 
• fully competent with the Microsoft office suite 
• knowledge of Maximizer an asset

» Project Coordinator

General Duties
• Plan and coordinate project schedules, goals and milestones for multiple projects
• Create business cases and /or budgets for projects where required
• Coordinate meetings, including travel arrangements and expense reports (where required)
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including all administrative tasks and sites involved in the project
• Coordinate activities and resources for projects that impact multiple departments and / or for multiple projects
• Record detailed (internal) customer requirements, constraints and assumptions with stakeholders in order to establish the project deliverables
• Adhere to budgets and keep projects on track for successful completion within specification
• Develop detailed project plans with identified critical path tasks as necessary on a per project basis
• Lead teams to develop, evaluate, and revise project processes
• Communicate with internal and external partners on progress
• Solicit and receive feedback from stakeholders and end users
• Handle basic administration functions involved with projects (i.e creating PO’s, researching products and or services etc.)
• Act as a liaison between end users and technical staff
• Facilitate meetings and maintain communication effectiveness with stake holders
• Manage detailed project plans to support software/hardware requirements
• Create technical documentation as needed and report on progress of projects

Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a project management/coordinator role
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of SharePoint
• Demonstrated knowledge of database applications
• Fully competent with the use of Excel in a project coordination environment
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at one time
