On September 12, US Navy Secretary Ray Maybus told workers at SSI’s client Marinette Marine, that he and the chief of naval operations are steadfast supporters of the LCS (Littoral Combat Ship) program.

“We’re absolutely committed to building the whole class of 52 ships of this class,” Maybus said. “It is the future of the Navy and the future of how we fight.”
Shipbuilder Marinette Marine, in conjunction with venerable design firm Gibbs & Cox, is using AutoCAD based ShipConstructor software from SSI to production engineer and detail design these innovative warships. A variant class of LCS from another shipyard, Austal, is being built with ShipConstructor as well.
“The US Navy defends our future,” says Patrick Roberts, Director of SSI USA, “ShipConstructor helps build it.”
