ShipConstructor 2017 R1.1 Released: Close Collaboration with Clients
SSI has released a new version of its flagship AutoCAD based CAD/CAM application: ShipConstructor 2017 R1.1. A key new feature is the ability to create Drop Cheek Elbow HVAC stock parts.
Partnering for Success
The development of this feature is a good example of how SSI works with clients throughout the development process. During the creation of this new feature, SSI sent many technical previews for feedback in order to validate and successfully develop a solution that would meet industry needs.
Drop Cheek Elbows
The new feature is noteworthy because drop cheek elbows are common in various heating, ventilation and air conditioning installations found in ships and other applications. A drop cheek elbow is an HVAC part that turns right or left while transitioning to a different size end. They are used in places where a change in the HVAC line cross-section coincides with a turn.
