The Challenge

HB Consultants is a small design office founded by JP Bouchard. JP Bouchard is a structural designer with extensive experience in the naval architecture/marine engineering industry. For many years he worked at Bender Shipbuilding and with renowned naval architect Robert Allan Ltd. modeling some of the world’s leading workboats. Now, with his own business, he produces structural designs and renderings for various clients such as Forillon shipyard.

The Result

JP Bouchard has years of experience using SSI’s software. He was involved with producing ShipConstructor work for Robert Allan Ltd. in the 2000’s. While there, he found that the program’s AutoCAD based foundation fit well with the processes they already used and gave added options to increase efficiency in creating designs. When he started his own business, he realized that the power of ShipConstructor would help him produce designs faster and he could create detailed production packages more efficiently using ShipConstructor’s built-in tools. Additionally, the fact that ShipConstructor’s native format is DWG made working with other companies simple since DWG is standard across the industry.
