Our CEO Darren Larkins was recently talking to one of our Australian clients, Incat Crowther. Darren mentioned that they are working on a number of interesting workboat projects using ShipConstructor. One that caught our eye was a 48m Monohull Fast Supply Vessel that Incat is engineering for Arpoador Engenharia in Brazil following the Petrobras UT4000 specification.
For the last decade or so, the offshore oil industry in Brazil has been booming and ShipConstructor is the key CAD/CAM software being used to construct a number of the tankers, FPSOs, and workboats to support the offshore development. It’s interesting to note this connection to an Australian company.
In fact, Incat Crowther has even recently opened up an office in Rio de Janeiro. This is a great example of a relatively small/medium sized design office using ShipConstructor to do big things. It’s also interesting to see collaboration across the Southern Hemisphere.
